An Algebraic Formulation of Thermality in Nested Rindler Wedges
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27007v1
arXiv:2610.27007v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Padmanabhan and Kolekar had demonstrated the phenomenon of recursive thermality in two dimensional free field theories where the Rindler vacuum appears thermal to an observer accelerated with respect to the Rindler observer. We study the same construction at an algebraic level for conformal field theories.
At each step, a parent wedge is conformally mapped to a reference Minkowski spacetime, where a new right Rindler wedge and its left sibling are selected. We illustrate that under the Bisognano--Wichmann property, thermality holds at every generation: the state associated with a parent wedge becomes a KMS state when restricted to its right child. Further, using the modular structure of the wedge and its causal sibling, we identify the sibling algebra with the modular commutant and derive the corresponding recursive modular flow explicitly.
Nambu-Goldstone Bosons and Quantum Fisher Information
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27054v1
arXiv:2610.27054v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: The quantum Fisher matrix and geometric tensor are powerful tools for quantifying the nature of quantum systems. Unfortunately, the formalism needed to compute these quantities is opaque and has limited the development of physical intuition for their behavior, even in the ground state. For quantum systems with continuous symmetries, we know the ground state can be understood in a model-independent and intuitive way from the correlation functions of conserved currents and charges. In this paper, we demonstrate an equivalence between the quantum Fisher matrix associated with the ground states of systems with continuous symmetries and the Nambu-Goldstone. bosons produced by broken generators. We will show that the information metric defined by the Fisher matrix is the same as the Zamolodchikov metric that defines the coset space of the system. Next we show that the Uhlmann curvature associated with multi-parameter estimation is the same as the charge density matrix that defines the difference between type-A and type-B Nambu-Goldstone bosons. We demonstrate these connections in several examples and discuss the generalization to finite temperature.
Scale-separated AdS vacua on Riemann-Flat Manifolds
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27058v1
arXiv:2610.27058v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Supergravity compactifications supported by fluxes and Casimir energy offer a simple strategy to concoct explicit, controlled and isolated vacua with parametric scale separation and soft supersymmetry breaking. Exploiting the special properties of both the Casimir and flux potentials with respect to Laplacian operators in moduli space, we prove that the simplest such class of solutions, given by toroidal compactifications of eleven-dimensional supergravity threaded by any fluxes, always exhibit perturbative instabilities in the form of tachyonic modes below the BF bound. This no-go theorem applies to any toroidal supergravity compactification supported by $p$-form fluxes. We also study compactifications on more general Riemann-flat manifolds (RFM's). Concretely, we find a tachyon-free AdS$_4$ vacuum by compactifying M-Theory on a $T^7/\mathbb{Z}_2^3$. This constitutes the first ever example of a fully top-down, perturbatively stable, scale-separated AdS without localized sources.
Bilocal flows and universality with field-dependent regulators
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27063v1
arXiv:2610.27063v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Many functional renormalization group flows employ a regulator that depends on the fields, as in proper-time and spectrally adjusted flows and in background-independent formulations of gauge theories and quantum gravity. Such a regulator generates additional terms in the flow, and their omission may spoil universality. We introduce bilocal flows, in which the effective action depends on the field and on the cutoff kernel as independent variables. The construction identifies the additional terms, and an exact sum rule shows that the first nontrivial coefficient of the anomalous dimension coincides with that of a fixed-regulator flow for every admissible regulator profile, so that universality is restored. For massless $\lambda\phi^4$ theory with a proper-time regulator, the reduced flow gives a profile-dependent anomalous dimension, while the completed flow gives the universal two-loop coefficient $C_\eta=1/6$ for every profile.
Deconfinement on $\mathbb{Z}_{F}$ and Axion Domain Walls
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27072v1
arXiv:2610.27072v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We investigate the nontrivial dynamics on $\mathbb{Z}_{F}$ domain walls and compute their tension in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) compactified on a circle with $N$ colors and $F < N$ massless fundamental flavors. In the process, we obtain insights on the $\eta'$ meson's potential in a regime where it is heavy and comparable in mass to other QCD resonances, as in Nature. We employ a center-stabilized compactification of QCD on a small circle of size $L$ with color-flavor twisted boundary conditions for the quarks. We demonstrate that probe particles in color representations of $N$-ality $N/\mathrm{gcd}(N,F)$ are deconfined on the $\mathbb{Z}_{F}$ domain walls whenever $N$ and $F$ are not coprime. This is reminiscent of deconfinement on axion domain walls in pure Yang--Mills. Finally, in the double scaling limit $N\rightarrow \infty$ keeping $NL$ and $F$ fixed, the infrared spectrum spans an emergent dimension. We establish that the $\mathbb{Z}_{F}$ domain walls are dual to electrostatic charge distributions in this emergent dimension. This duality allows us to compute their tension analytically and find a different tension scaling at large-$N$ between $\mathbb{Z}_{F}$ domain walls in QCD and axion domain walls in pure Yang--Mills, in center-stabilized compactifications.
Gravitational Path Integral and String Theory
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27073v1
arXiv:2610.27073v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Gravitational path integral has had many applications in recent years. Using the example of supersymmetric index, which provides one of the most controlled tests of gravitational path integral, we argue that even in this controlled case, naive gravitational path integral cannot produce consistent results beyond low orders. However one can go further using stringy inputs, e.g. the choice of UV cut-off and the choice of correct path integration variable, without having to do full fledged string calculation. We also discuss to what extent we are led to string scale UV cut-off even if we begin with a supergravity theory without an a priori bias towards string theory. This is a review of mostly published results, but we clarify several details.
Classical solitons in anti-self-dual Yang-Mills theory
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27074v1
arXiv:2610.27074v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We study classical soliton solutions in split-signature anti-self-dual Yang-Mills theory. Using Zakharov's dressing method, we construct rational lump solitons, which are localised near two-dimensional surfaces, and wall solitons, which have codimension one. We further describe multi-phase solutions which have multiple walls meeting at trivalent junctions and form four-dimensional foam-like structures. Two-pole solutions describe soliton interactions and we find non-trivial colour-dressed phase shifts for wall interactions. We consider the four-dimensional analogue of Ward's lump scattering for the restricted kinematics of coincident poles and show that there are non-trivial interactions in the collinear limit. Finally, we show that the determinant of the soliton matrix provides a $\tau$-function which acts as a potential for gauge-invariant scalar quantities such as the Yang-Mills Lagrangian density.
Flux Vacua, Asymptotic Periods, and Relatively Anosov Representations
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27077v1
arXiv:2610.27077v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We develop a topological method to detect classical flux vacua of M-theory on Calabi-Yau fourfolds with a single complex structure modulus using only asymptotic period data and monodromy information. To this end, we express the index of the F-term of the flux superpotential as a winding number along the boundary of the universal cover of the complex structure moduli space. The index evaluates to a sum over zeros and poles of a suitably normalized boundary F-term, where local contributions can be computed algebraically on a dense set of boundary points. Assuming a conjectured bound on the remaining contributions, sufficiently many sign changes of the boundary F-term guarantee a flux vacuum in the interior. We illustrate the method on the mirror Fermat sextic with explicit examples and a systematic flux scan.
A main technical ingredient in our construction is a continuity result for projective period maps: we prove that the non-holomorphic (3,1)-period map extends continuously to the boundary of the covering space if the monodromy representation is relatively Anosov. In general, this property does not hold for holomorphic (4,0)-periods.
IR extremality and UV softness in string bootstrap
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27084v1
arXiv:2610.27084v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Whether string amplitudes can be characterized by extremality within the space of consistent S-matrices is an intriguing question. We address this question within the framework of positivity bootstrap. We compute positivity bounds by minimizing the $F^4$ Wilson coefficient while fixing subleading coefficients, and show that the Veneziano amplitude lies close to the boundary of the allowed region. However, this numerical proximity does not imply exact extremality, as demonstrated by explicit counterexamples. When additional KLT-motivated UV softness is imposed, the Veneziano amplitude is found to uniquely minimize the $F^4$ coefficient for $4\leq D\leq10$, connecting the extremality of the Veneziano amplitude to its stringy UV behavior and offering a new perspective on what makes string theory special.
AdS$_2$ from Type IIA on weak G$_2$ manifolds
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27093v1
arXiv:2610.27093v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We present and study supersymmetric warped ${\rm AdS}_2 \times {\rm M}_7 \times I$ solutions of Type IIA supergravity, where M$_7$ is a weak G$_2$ holonomy manifold. Locally, the solutions are characterized by a cubic polynomial. We distinguish two branches, Branch 1 and Branch 2, and analyze their global properties, taking flux quantization into account. At the endpoints of the interval $I$ they exhibit either OF1-plane or O8/D8 type of singularities with Branch 1 allowing also for a Spin(7) cone. In the case of zero Romans mass, Branch 1 uplifts to eleven dimensions to ${\rm AdS}_4 \times {\rm M}_7$ whereas Branch 2 uplifts to warped ${\rm AdS}_3 \times {\rm M}_7 \times I$ with OM2-plane type of singularities.
Mapping AdS$_4$ quantum gravity via the Bethe Ansatz formula
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27097v1
arXiv:2610.27097v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: The topologically twisted index of 3d ADHM theory can be written as a sum over solutions to the Bethe Ansatz Equations (BAEs) of the XXZ-type model constructed from quantum toroidal $\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{l}_1$. Via a novel numerical algorithm, we solve for all $p(N)$ physical solutions at $N\leq 21$, where $p(N)$ denotes the number of integer partitions of $N$. Surveying these solutions, we find that in addition to the known "1-cut" solution dual to dyonic black holes, where the gauge holonomies are distributed along a single curve in the complex plane, there are "dressed" 1-cut solutions dual to combined configurations of the black hole and M2-branes, $m$-cut solutions dual to $\mathbb{Z}_m$ orbifolds of the black hole, a discrete family of solutions interpolating between the 1-cut and 3-cut solutions, together with other exotic solutions, at each value of $N$. The free energy of the interpolating solutions cannot be matched with the on-shell action of any known bulk solution. The $1,2,3$-cut solutions and interpolating solutions all have a well-defined large $N$ limit, and their leading order distribution of gauge holonomies can be computed analytically. Whenever possible, we fit the contributions of the solutions to the index to all orders in the $1/N$ expansion with high-precision numerics, and extract the leading non-perturbative correction. With exceptions, these are matched with the results of equivariant localization in the bulk, and the action of wrapped M2-branes respectively.
A group theoretic calculation of multi-invariants of some stabilizer states
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27098v1
arXiv:2610.27098v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We study multi-invariants---a multi-partite generalization of Renyi entropies---of simple stabilizer states, for an arbitrary replica symmetry group. We develop a group theoretic technique for evaluating such invariants, which operates on the replica group and involves counting intersections among its cosets. Our techniques streamline the calculations of multi-invariants for graph states with two GHZ-like nodes and for certain generalizations thereof. The methodology developed here is most suitable when the quantum state is simple but flexibility over the replica group is desired.
Realization of de Sitter spacetime in AdS/CFT
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27246v1
arXiv:2610.27246v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We construct horizonless, everywhere-regular solitons containing a de~Sitter core inside an asymptotically anti--de~Sitter spacetime, using an ordinary action of Einstein gravity, a Maxwell field, and a charged scalar. The object is a gravitating gauged $Q$-ball whose false-vacuum interior acts as a positive effective cosmological constant, sourcing an inner de~Sitter region joined through a thin wall to a charged, asymptotically AdS exterior. Two general requirements are emphasized: the scalar must lie in a near-false-vacuum (slow-roll--like) regime, and the exterior is driven to the extremal Reissner--Nordstr\"om--AdS locus in the thin-wall limit, in which the wall approaches the common would-be horizon. Since the solution is static and spherically symmetric, it may correspond to a semiclassical charge-$Q$ state of the dual CFT, realizing de~Sitter space approximately within a holographic theory. We also discuss free fluctuations whose de~Sitter--core modes appear as parametrically low-lying excitations above the state, bulk reconstruction, and the near-extremal regime, where finite-${\mathcal N}$ effects are expected to cut off the formal classical throat and replace its independent free-field modes by an interacting near-throat sector.
Classical and Stochastic Trans-Planckian Censorship
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27319v1
arXiv:2610.27319v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: The trans-Planckian censorship conjecture (TCC) limits inflation to a deadline of $N_{\rm TCC}=\ln(M_{\rm Pl}/H_{\rm end})$ e-folds. We formulate it in stochastic inflation as a bound at confidence $1-\delta$ on the probability that a history outlasts the deadline, with three readings: one worldline, the region grown from one Hubble patch, and the reheated volume. Each reading becomes a closed-form condition, rigorous for a linear roll in leading-order stochastic inflation (for the region, in a branching model) and sharp at leading order in $N_{\rm TCC}$: a linear roll whose classical history lasts $N_{\rm cl}$ e-folds respects the TCC if $1-N_{\rm cl}/N_{\rm TCC}\geq\{2\mathcal{P}_\zeta[w+\ln(1/\delta)/N_{\rm TCC}]\}^{1/2}$, with $w=0$ for a worldline and $w=3$ for a region. On a linear slope without vacuum decay, the worldline and region readings are never weaker than the classical TCC, and on the CMB-normalized attractor all readings agree closely with it, so the bounds on the scale of inflation stand. A classical phase that ends in a flat quantum well, which the overdamped classical TCC excludes, is allowed with a margin of a few e-folds per worldline. Near the onset of eternal inflation, the readings differ. On a linear slope, a region must leave the fraction $\sqrt{6\mathcal{P}_\zeta}$ of the deadline unused at leading order: eternal inflation is excluded for every classical history that uses a finite fraction of the deadline, as is a band of non-eternal slopes, and the slope bound becomes $|V'|>V^{3/2}/[\sqrt2\,\pi(1-N_{\rm cl}/N_{\rm TCC})]$. Per worldline, every slope is allowed, given a margin of a few standard deviations. A false vacuum must decay at about the eternal threshold $\Gamma=9H^4/(4\pi)$ or faster for a region or the volume, but only faster than $3H^4\ln(1/\delta)/(4\pi N_{\rm TCC})$ per worldline. Whether the TCC forbids eternal inflation depends on the reading.

Abstract: We show that the Yamazaki-Hori solution to the Ernst equation can be represented in the Pfaffian form. We also discuss the consequences of this result for Nakamura's conjecture on the relation between the Ernst equation and the 2D Toda model.
Holographic Reconstruction from Broken Conformal Gauge Symmetry
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27511v1
arXiv:2610.27511v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We investigate bulk--boundary structures in $\AdS_4/\CFT_3$ from the viewpoint of gravity as a broken phase of conformal gauge symmetry. A crucial distinction is made between the Euler and Pontryagin characteristic classes. The gauge-theoretic gravitational action contains an Euler sector, whose total-derivative representation gives a boundary form depending on both intrinsic and extrinsic geometry. This structure is different from the Pontryagin descent to the three-dimensional gravitational Chern--Simons functional, whose metric variation gives the Cotton tensor and underlies the mixed boundary conditions studied by de Haro. We perform a Fefferman--Graham expansion of the Euler boundary form in asymptotically $\AdS_4$ spacetime. The normalizable coefficient $g_{(3)ij}$ does not contribute linearly to the finite Euler boundary term: its contribution from the cubic extrinsic- curvature sector vanishes by $\mathrm{Tr}\,g_{(3)}=0$, while curvature-- extrinsic-curvature terms containing $g_{(3)}$ vanish at the conformal boundary. A direct Codazzi analysis additionally shows that the Cotton tensor appears in the asymptotic mixed curvature but its contribution through the tangential-connection boundary variation vanishes for standard Dirichlet data. This indicates two distinct types of bulk--boundary structure: a global/topological Euler relation and a local Pontryagin--Cotton relation. We distinguish this kinematic Cotton appearance from a finite Cotton boundary response and discuss the implications for holographic reconstruction.
Learning the open string spectrum with neural networks
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27667v1
arXiv:2610.27667v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: The tree-level open superstring has an integer mass-squared spectrum on linear Regge trajectories. To what extent is this fixed by consistency conditions: locality, analyticity, crossing, unitarity together with the requirement that $2\to2$ scattering minimize the entanglement it generates? Using the local two-channel crossing symmetric dispersion relation with one-parameter ambiguity ($\lambda$-CSDR) we set up a bootstrap treating both the mass-squared spectrum and the partial-wave coefficients as unknowns which lets the machine learning algorithm to learn the mass-squared spectrum and partial-wave coefficients simultaneously, going beyond earlier work in which the spectrum was fixed. Using the local three-channel crossing symmetric dispersion relation with one-parameter ambiguity we obtain, within the class of amplitudes with soft Regge behavior and infinite higher-spin tower, a bound on the leading Wilson coefficients that we compare with existing bounds and trace to spin-0 dominance. We locate the Virasoro-Shapiro amplitude in the allowed region of the Wilson coefficients space. For amplitudes with two-channel crossing symmetry we find that a Non-dual amplitude exhibits a Polchinski-Strassler type transition from Regge to power-law behavior.
Thermodynamic Supercritical Scaling Law for the charged Gauss-Bonnet AdS Black Hole
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27824v1
arXiv:2610.27824v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: The phase structure of the charged Gauss-Bonnet AdS black holes varies with the spacetime dimension. Within an appropriate parameter range, only the six-dimensional case admits two physical critical points and it is an ideal model for investigating supercritical thermodynamics in black hole systems with multiple critical points. In this study, we investigate the supercritical thermodynamic properties of this model in the extended phase space and construct the supercritical phase diagrams associated with the two critical points. The thermodynamic supercritical scaling analysis for the supercritical crossover lines in the vicinity of both critical points is completed, demonstrating universality. The corresponding coefficients for the external field scaling and the order parameter scaling are obtained, and their physical significance is discussed.
Free-field realizations of $\mathcal{N} = 1$ supersymmetric $\mathcal{W}$-algebras associated with Lie superalgebras $B (n - 1 , n)$ and $B (n , n)$
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27853v1
arXiv:2610.27853v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We extend the recursive construction of free-field realizations proposed by Ide, Ito, and Miyazaki to the $\mathcal{N} = 1$ supersymmetric $\mathcal{W}$-algebras $\mathcal{SW} B (n - 1 , n)$ and $\mathcal{SW} B (n , n)$, associated with the Lie superalgebras $B (n - 1 , n)$ and $B (n , n)$, respectively. We obtain explicit free-field realizations of $\mathcal{SW} B (0 , 1)$, $\mathcal{SW} B (1 , 1)$, $\mathcal{SW} B (1 , 2)$, and $\mathcal{SW} B (2 , 2)$. In particular, the realizations of $\mathcal{SW} B (1 , 2)$ and $\mathcal{SW} B (2 , 2)$ are new. Using these realizations, we compute central charges, conformal weights, and eigenvalues of the generating currents on free-field highest-weight states, and construct the local integrals of motion $I_1$, $I_3$, and $I_5$.
Monodromy line defects on the fuzzy sphere
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27926v1
arXiv:2610.27926v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Monodromy line defects are of interest in the defect bootstrap program and are dual to electrically charged objects in dual gauge field descriptions. We investigate the Ising monodromy dCFT using a fuzzy sphere regularization, by imposing the twisted boundary condition in the UV. We obtain defect scaling dimensions $\hat \Delta$ and ratios of defect operator expansion (DOE) coefficients using this method. We extend this machinery to the continuous family of $O(2)$ monodromy defects with twist angle $2\pi\nu$. In both cases, the lowest neutral defect scalar lies above dimension one, providing evidence that the monodromy defect reaches a stable dCFT without additional fine tuning.
Non-minimal unimodular inflation revisited: Swampland diagnostics and CMB constraints
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27991v1
arXiv:2610.27991v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We study non-minimal unimodular inflation in the Einstein frame; the effective potential takes the form $U(\varphi)=U_0(1+\xi\varphi^2/\mpl^2)^{-2}$. We consider the canonical field map and the inflationary observables directly from the Einstein-frame action. The exact potential slow-roll parameters, the leading scalar running, the scalar-amplitude normalization, the e-fold relation, and the end-of-inflation condition are obtained analytically. The model has a nontrivial structural tension: an $\epsilon_V=1$ exit requires $\xi>1/2$, whereas the near-origin slow-roll regime requires $\xi\ll1$ and gives $n_s\simeq1-8\xi$. We next test three distinct swampland diagnostics. The further-refined de Sitter conjecture (FRDSSC) introduces the independent conjectural parameters $a$, $b$, and $q$, while the scalar weak gravity conjecture (SWGC) and its strong form (SSWGC) contain no analogous tunable conjecture parameter in the single-field realization adopted here. All three criteria are evaluated using the canonically normalized Einstein-frame scalar. Analytic limits show that the SWGC is violated at the stationary point for every nonzero $\xi$, whereas the SSWGC at that point requires $\xi\gtrsim0.0643$. In the large-field limit both scalar weak-gravity diagnostics reduce to the same threshold $\xi\ge0.1$. Numerical scans then show that the observationally relevant ACT/P-ACT region does not satisfy either scalar weak-gravity criterion, while the FRDSSC can be satisfied for $a$ close to unity. Consequently, the minimal model can reproduce acceptable $(n_s,r)$ at isolated field values, but this does not constitute a complete 50-60 e-fold inflationary history or simultaneous satisfaction of all three conjectures.
Reconstructing the Goldberg-Palatini Action from Noether Identities
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28065v1
arXiv:2610.28065v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We investigate the reconstruction of the first-order gravitational action from the Noether identities associated with diffeomorphism invariance. The independent fields are a symmetric perturbation $\phi^{\mu\nu}$ of the contravariant metric density and a trace-adjusted connection $G^{\lambda}{}_{\mu\nu}$, whose transformation laws are prescribed. For a local action polynomial in these fields, with the gravitational coupling as its only dimensionful constant and each additional field carrying one power of it, a dilatation, which is a particular diffeomorphism, shows that in any dimension $d>2$ the action terminates at most at cubic order, its only possible cubic term being a derivative-free $\phi GG$ vertex. Expanding the kernels of the resulting Lorentz-covariant ansatz in tensor bases gives 31 coefficients for $d\geq 4$. The Noether identities with general diffeomorphisms, expanded order by order in the fields, yield a linear system that eliminates the $\phi\phi$ kernel and determines the remaining coefficients up to an overall normalization, recovering the Goldberg-Palatini action. Since the connection can be eliminated exactly, this also fixes the complete second-order action, with its infinite set of graviton vertices. The construction requires no choice of energy-momentum tensor, the source of ambiguity in the self-coupling approach. The kernel bases, the identities and the solution are given in appendices, and the symbolic computations are publicly available.
Possible Microscopic source of torsion
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28125v1
arXiv:2610.28125v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Axial fermionic interactions connect vacuum condensation with torsionful back- grounds. We consider a quartic spin spin interaction whose mean field reduction yields a quadratic fermionic Hamiltonian. Its diagonalisation defines a particle and antiparticle condensate, while self consistency determines whether the vacuum devel- ops a non zero axial current. Cutoff, fluctuation and energy conditions delimit the validity of the approximation. When torsion couples to spin, this axial expectation value can provide a microscopic source for an axial torsion background. We then consider mixed Dirac fields on such a background. In the explicit neutrino analysis, metric curvature is neglected while torsion modifies the flavour Bogoliubov coeffi- cients, producing spin dependent oscillation frequencies, condensate densities and CP asymmetries.
Surface defects on lens space and transfer matrices
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28165v1
arXiv:2610.28165v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We study surface defects in four-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=2$ theories of class $\mathcal{S}$ and $\mathcal{N}=1$ theories of class $\mathcal{S}_k$ placed on $L(r,1)\times S^1$. The lens space index depends on the fugacities $p$ and $q$, and the effect of the defects on it is captured by difference operators acting on the fugacities and holonomies of flavor symmetries. For theories of type $A_1$ we determine in closed form the difference operators for the basic defects, labeled by $p^r$, $q^r$ and $pq$, and show that for odd $r$ there exist additional elementary defects, whose operators shift the holonomy by one half modulo $r$. All the operators commute, and the elementary operators generate the others. For even $r$ the same holds once the holonomy is extended to a twisted sector. We show that the elementary operators are traces of $L$-operators whose entries generate a Sklyanin algebra, with nome $q^r$ and shift $pq$. The lens space enters only through the parameters of the algebra and through its representation, which is realized on a doubled holonomy label. The $p$- and $q$-type algebras form a lens space version of the elliptic modular double. For class $\mathcal{S}_k$ theories we propose, and test in several ways, that the defect operators are transfer matrices of inhomogeneous spin chains built from these $L$-operators. Throughout, we use the TQFT structure of the lens space index, which follows from S-duality, both to fix and to check the operators.
Finite Spectral Recurrences for Loop Integrals in de Sitter and Anti-de Sitter Space
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28183v1
arXiv:2610.28183v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We introduce a method that does for loop integrals in de Sitter and anti-de Sitter space what integration-by-parts identities do in flat space. A local, coordinate-free propagator algebra common to both geometries yields exact finite-difference equations in spectral labels; with external points they become differential-difference equations, and at the AdS boundary recover known Witten-diagram relations. Acting line by line, they apply in principle to any diagram. We solve them for the two-loop watermelon, isolating its ultraviolet poles, and for one-loop two- and four-point functions.
Causality violation in the holographic approach to N=4 SYM theory at finite 't Hooft coupling
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28319v1
arXiv:2610.28319v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: In the AdS/CFT correspondence, correlation functions of the energy-momentum tensor in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory at large but finite 't Hooft coupling can be studied using higher-derivative corrections to supergravity. We show that the commonly used holographic prescription for correlation functions which is obtained by truncating the equations of motion at order $(\alpha')^3$ implies that the thermal equilibrium state of N=4 SYM theory in the planar limit is dynamically unstable at arbitrarily large finite 't Hooft coupling. The instability is a reflection of the unphysical causality violation brought about by treating perturbatively-derived equations as if they were non-perturbative, analogous to the instability of AdS black branes in five-dimensional Gauss-Bonnet gravity. While other holographic prescriptions for treating the $O(\alpha'^3)$ corrections to supergravity may alleviate the pathology introduced by the truncation, the validity regime of the results obtained by any prescription at $O(\alpha'^3)$ must be limited to the strict perturbative treatment of the $O(\alpha'^3)$ effects on N=4 SYM observables.
Cosmological correlators from the Euclidean sphere
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28516v1
arXiv:2610.28516v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We propose a new framework for computing late-time cosmological correlators in de Sitter spacetime by analytic continuation from the Euclidean sphere. In this framework, correlators of arbitrary massive scalar fields take the universal form of generalized Euler integrals. Using this representation, we reproduce the results obtained using the Schwinger-Keldysh formalism for a range of tree-level and loop diagrams, providing nontrivial checks of the equivalence between the Euclidean and the in-in formalisms. We further show that a Landau analysis of the generalized Euler integrals determines the singularities of the corresponding correlators in momentum space. This framework provides a systematic approach to studying the analytic structure of cosmological correlators.
Towards differential expansion for generic representations
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28531v1
arXiv:2610.28531v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: We report the first results of phenomenological analysis, based on extended set of explicitly calculated colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials in \cite{knotebook}. They concern differential expansion (DE), which separates the dependencies on the knot ${\cal K}$ and the representation $R$. %of colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials. DE is well understood for symmetric and rectangular representations, while for non-rectangular $R$ even the knot-independent basis $Z_R^X$ of DE is not known. We concentrate on two issues: the possible derivation of DE and on improved characteristic of its defect. We discuss how evolution families -- twist knots, double braids and 3-pretzels -- can be used to find DE by a peculiar triangular transformation of evolution coefficients. Once $Z^R_X$ are found for particular family, they are expected to stay basically the same for arbitrary knots -- modulo controllable reductions, characterized by the defect of DE, which puts knots into different universality classes. Contrary to original expectation, these classes appear labeled not by a single number $\delta^{\cal K}$, but by a whole non-decreasing sequence $\{k_j\}$, which is squeezed between two staircases, ${\rm entier}\left(\frac{j-1}{\delta+1}\right)\leq k_j\leq{\rm entier}\left(\frac{j-1}{{\rm deg}\,\Delta}\right)$, where the upper bound involves Alexander polynomial $\Delta(q^2)$ and follows from the continuation of the Melvin--Morton--Rozansky-Kashaev limit to $A=q^{-m}$ with $m>0$, when the limit gives a {\it positive} power of Alexander. The old assumption $\delta+1={\rm deg}\,\Delta$ is oversimplified and fails for 19 non-alternating knots with 11 and 12 crossings. Last, we list the differences of non-rectangularly colored HOMFLY for various mutant pairs to demonstrate their universality (knot-independence) and nice consistency with the spirit of DE.
Universal Structure of Horizon Formation in Generic Binary Black Hole Mergers
oai:arXiv.org:2609.11819v1
arXiv:2609.11819v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We derive the local structure of the first common apparent horizon in a generic binary-black-hole merger. This event occurs in the fully nonlinear regime, outside the standard regimes of post-Newtonian inspiral theory and perturbations of a stationary black hole, yet it admits a universal description. Without assuming symmetry, we show that the stability operator of the marginally outer trapped surface must lose invertibility at formation. Outermost stability then implies that the vanishing eigenvalue is the principal one, with a strictly positive eigenfunction. Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction yields square-root branch separation with a shared linear drift. Together these terms give a tilted parabola through linear order in time. The common horizon lies on a smooth marginally outer trapped tube tangent to the formation slice, and nearby later slices intersect it in outer and inner branches whose separation scales as $(t-t_*)^{1/2}$. Horizon quantities with a nonzero first response along the zero mode inherit the square-root separation and a shared linear term. We test these predictions in three binary black hole simulations, including an eccentric, precessing, unequal-mass system. In all three, the worldtube geometry and quasilocal scalars follow the predicted scaling. With the next-order term included, free-exponent fits to the surface geometry and quasilocal functionals recover $1/2$ to within half a percent, and diagnostics agree on the formation time within $5\times10^{-5}M$. The correlation between horizon shear and gravitational-wave news suggests that common horizon formation could have a signature in a short segment of the merger waveform.
Minimal-length kinematics of coherent light and a proposed two-color vacuum chronoscopy
oai:arXiv.org:2610.26892v1
arXiv:2610.26892v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: The unification of quantum theory and general relativity suggests the existence of a minimal measurable length, leading to a generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) and an energy-dependent vacuum group velocity. Testing these effects with macroscopic objects typically encounters the ``soccer-ball problem,'' where applying Planck-scale deformations to the total momentum predicts observationally ruled-out velocity deviations. We adopt the QFT-natural prescription in which the GUP modifies single-mode commutators, and verify by explicit calculation that the macroscopic group velocity of a multimode coherent pulse reduces to the single-photon GUP velocity evaluated at the central wavelength, multiplied by the classical Gaussian-beam factor, with no dependence on the total pulse energy. The energy--momentum relation $E=pc$ itself is unmodified; the deformation enters through the velocity--momentum relation and is equivalent to a modified dispersion relation in the wave vector, with a quadratic coefficient that depends on which of the two variables is used. The soccer-ball problem $\,$---$\,$ which arises only when the GUP is applied to the center-of-mass momentum of a composite system $\,$---$\,$ is therefore absent for coherent light, and macroscopic petawatt pulses probe the same parameter space as single high-energy photons. Building on this framework, we propose a two-color vacuum chronoscopy experiment using a short-pulse petawatt laser and its high-harmonic generation. By systematically varying the macroscopic beam waist, our setup separates Planck-scale kinematic shifts from classical diffraction delays, establishing a controlled, source-independent terrestrial methodology whose sensitivity we assess against current astrophysical bounds and against the dominant waist-independent systematics that limit it, residual-gas dispersion and the harmonic birth-time offset.
Aspects of Anomalies: Fermion Family Constraints, Gravitational Form Factors and Scattering Amplitudes
oai:arXiv.org:2610.26893v1
arXiv:2610.26893v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: Quantum anomalies play two complementary roles in quantum field theory: as consistency conditions that constrain the field content of a theory, and as dynamical effects encoded in the analytic structure of correlation functions. This thesis explores both. In the first part, we study the 331 model, in which gauge anomalies cancel across families rather than within each one. Combined with QCD asymptotic freedom, this fixes the number of fermion generations to three. We analyze the model's symmetry breaking, scalar and flavor sectors, and its TeV-scale Landau pole. We then study the collider phenomenology of its exotic quarks, showing that the pair production of heavy quarks decaying into doubly-charged vector bileptons gives a clean same-sign dimuon plus b-jets signature, observable at a 100 TeV collider but not at the LHC. Finally, we introduce the left-right symmetric 33311 extension, which preserves the family-number constraint and avoids proton decay. In the second part, we use conformal field theory in momentum space to study the chiral, gravitational and conformal anomalies. We construct a complete off-shell parametrization of the non-Abelian TJJ correlator in perturbative QCD, identifying the dilaton-like anomaly pole. For the AVV, ATT and TJJ vertices, we prove mass-independent anomaly sum rules for the spectral density, showing that the anomaly pole is not an asymptotic particle state. We apply the TJJ insertion to the pion gravitational form factors at large momentum transfer with Sudakov resummation: the anomaly feeds mainly into the D-term and the trace form factor, improving agreement with lattice QCD. Lastly, sewing two anomaly vertices through graviton exchange, we show that the trace anomaly activates a gauge-invariant scalar gravitational channel, giving a double-copy-like structure in photon and graviton scattering.
Floquet Instability of Photon-Axion Conversion
oai:arXiv.org:2610.26908v1
arXiv:2610.26908v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: The discovery of axions would provide evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model. In this work, we investigate axion-photon conversion in the presence of a background magnetic field with simultaneous spatial and temporal periodicity. By performing a Lorentz transformation, the coupled axion-photon system is mapped onto a time-periodic linear system that can be analyzed using Floquet theorem. We find unstable modes associated with resonant crossing between Floquet replicas. The resulting complex Floquet exponents lead to exponentially growing modes, which we identify as a Floquet instability. Then, we determine the parameter regions in which this instability appears in a perturbative analysis. We further show that the Floquet instability enhances the axion-field amplitude generated from an initial photon field. Our results demonstrate that spatiotemporally periodic magnetic backgrounds provide a distinct mechanism for modifying axion-photon conversion through Floquet instability.
Linear Structure, Convergence and Resurgence of Hydrodynamic Transseries
oai:arXiv.org:2610.26958v1
arXiv:2610.26958v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We construct an exact formulation for the solution of Bjorken expanding relativistic viscous hydrodynamics with a constant relaxation time and derive its late time transseries structure. The two fundamental modes of the linear auxiliary equation separate the hydrodynamic contribution from the exponentially suppressed transient mode. We show that this single transient mode generates the entire hierarchy of nonperturbative sectors through nonlinear mode mixing, while its decay explains the loss of initial condition dependence and the emergence of late time hydrodynamic attractor behavior. The hydrodynamic gradient expansion is factorially divergent for generic values of the transport parameter but converges at the discrete values $a=N^2$, where the auxiliary asymptotic expansions terminate. We further determine the exact Stokes constant of the auxiliary linear equation and establish its relation to the logarithmic Borel singularity coefficient. The vanishing of the Stokes constant at these exceptional values establishes a direct connection between auxiliary series termination, hydrodynamic convergence, and Stokes decoupling between the hydrodynamic and the nonhydrodynamic transient sector.
Gravitational baryogenesis in asymptotically safe gravity

Abstract: Gravitational baryogenesis in asymptotically safe gravity is considered. Two baryogenesis interactions are explored and their effects on the baryon-to-entropy ratio are discussed during the radiation era. The model's parameters are constrained with the current observational data, indicating these constructions may provide viable explanations for the observed baryon asymmetry.
Nonlinear Response of Schwarzschild Black Holes at Arbitrary Perturbative Order
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27048v1
arXiv:2610.27048v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We establish recursive integration-by-parts identities that symbolically reduce the inhomogeneous solutions of the Regge-Wheeler-Zerilli equation to a small set of master integrals, yielding the nonlinear response kernels of Schwarzschild black holes at arbitrary perturbative order. We further derive a closed ODE system that enables rapid, accurate, and stable numerical evaluation of these master integrals. To demonstrate our result, we compute quadratic, cubic, and quartic quasinormal-mode coupling coefficients as special cases of the response kernels.
A Natural Dark Matter-Dark Energy Interaction from Axion-Monopole Dynamics
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27059v1
arXiv:2610.27059v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We propose a natural framework for interacting dark matter and dark energy based on axion-monopole dynamics in a dark gauge sector. Dark matter is composed of dark 't Hooft-Polyakov monopoles, while dark energy is an ultralight axion whose coupling to the dark gauge field induces an axion-dependent dyon mass through the Witten effect. This generates a direct dark matter-dark energy interaction. We show that generic models with a significant dark matter-dark energy coupling suffer from a naturalness problem: the Coleman-Weinberg potential induced by the interaction is typically much larger than the dark energy scale. In our model, the corrections arise from a monodromy tower of dyon states, allowing them to be exponentially suppressed. In the minimal setup, the interaction strength is predicted to be $\sim 0.1\%$, below the sensitivity of current observations. We discuss scenarios in which cosmological population of higher-charge dyons can enhance the interaction to the percent level, producing an apparent phantom dark energy equation of state. We further show that the parameter space of the axion-monopole model preferred by fitting the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) results can also naturally explain the cosmic birefringence with a small anomaly coefficient.
Boundary One-Point Functions in the Open XXZ Spin Chain with Generic Integrable Boundaries
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27062v1
arXiv:2610.27062v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We consider the problem of computing observables beyond the spectrum in the open XXZ spin chain with the most generic integrable boundary conditions. For such boundaries, the residual u(1) symmetry is broken and the familiar Baxter TQ equation describing the spectrum becomes inhomogeneous, placing the model outside the realm of existing approaches to correlation functions and form factors. We show that the Functional Separation of Variables method, so far developed mainly for rational, (quasi-)periodic spin chains, is largely insensitive to these modifications, and works equally well for diagonal and generic boundaries. Using this method, we compute exact determinant expressions for a prototypical example of form factors in open-boundary systems, namely the longitudinal and transverse boundary-spin one-point functions in arbitrary Hamiltonian eigenstates at finite system size. No constraint relating the two boundary configurations and no reference state are required. We verify the resulting formulae against direct finite-volume diagonalisation.
R\'enyi multi-entropy of graph states and the $n -> 1$ limit
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27080v1
arXiv:2610.27080v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: R\'enyi multi-entropy extends the R\'enyi entropy to pure states of more than two parties. It is defined by a replica contraction at integer replica number $n$, and the multi-entropy is its $n\to1$ limit. In holography this limit is conjectured to compute the area of a minimal soap-film web in the bulk. Understanding multi-entropy for general states, however, is harder. Unlike the bipartite case, the replica contraction is not a moment of a density matrix, and the continuation to $n=1$ has to be found by other means. We study this problem for qubit graph states. We show that at every odd $n$ the contraction equals $2^{-k/2}$, where $k$ is a sum of ranks of matrices over a finite field, one row and one column per qubit. We define a class of graphs that we call collision-controlled, for which the rank sum is a polynomial in $n$. This class includes graphs without even cycles and all complete bipartite graphs. The natural polynomial $n \to 1$ continuation is a finite sum over partitions of the parties. While the R\'enyi multi-entropy is non-increasing under single-qubit Pauli measurements at every odd integer $n>1$, the continuation to $n=1$ is not. A $Z$ measurement on one qubit of an odd ring with $2r + 1 \geq 7$ qubits raises it from $(r+1)\log 2$ to $(2r-1) \log 2$. Thus the continuation is not an entanglement monotone.
Broken isospectrality in inverted black hole potentials and the emergence of Efimov scaling
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27102v1
arXiv:2610.27102v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: Are the inverted Regge-Wheeler and Zerilli potentials arising in Mashhoon's bound-state approach to black-hole quasinormal modes isospectral? Extending previous numerical and analytical studies of the inverted Regge-Wheeler potential, we present the first direct computation of the bound-state spectrum of the inverted Zerilli potential. Although Chandrasekhar proved that the original potentials have identical quasinormal-mode spectra, we show that their inverted counterparts have distinct bound-state spectra. We also demonstrate that potential inversion destroys their first-order Darboux relation, used by Glampedakis et al. to provide a simpler proof of isospectrality. A continuous interpolation between the potentials reveals substantially larger energy shifts in the interior than at the endpoints, indicating cancellations that suppress the endpoint spectral splitting. Explaining this behavior requires second-order perturbative contributions, even towards the eikonal limit. Despite these differences, both spectra exhibit asymptotic geometric scaling characteristic of Efimov physics, first discovered in three-boson systems. This scaling also applies to other inverted potentials with the same leading tail, including the scalar-field case studied here. Beyond their theoretical implications, our results raise questions for recently developed methods that compute quasinormal modes with high precision from numerical bound states.
Model and parameter-path dependence of charged Dirac quasi-bound spectra in Born--Infeld and Euler--Heisenberg-type geometries
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27118v1
arXiv:2610.27118v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We study quasi-bound states of a charged massive Dirac field in the exact electrically charged Einstein--Born--Infeld (BI) geometry and in a leading-order Euler--Heisenberg-type (EH) approximation. The two descriptions agree in the weak-field limit. We compare families in which either the mass measured at infinity or the outer-horizon radius is held fixed, and examine several field charges and levels. We integrate the radial equations outward from the horizon and inward from large radius, then match the solutions. The resulting frequencies show that the effect of the nonlinear terms depends on both the electrodynamic theory and the chosen comparison. For the fundamental like-charge mode, the small change in its real frequency has opposite signs in the two theories when the mass is fixed, whereas it is upward in both when the horizon radius is fixed. The fundamental mode decays more slowly as the nonlinear term grows along either family. The narrowest level, however, decays more rapidly when the mass is fixed and more slowly when the horizon radius is fixed. The spectra of the two theories approach one another as the nonlinear term is reduced. We also follow several higher levels; their decay widths and their response depend on the state and on the family used for comparison. The nonlinear coefficient is used as an effective parameter and is not matched to the microscopic coupling in quantum electrodynamics (QED).
Local obstructions to trapped-region escape in modified gravity
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27225v1
arXiv:2610.27225v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: Energy conditions in modified gravity are commonly imposed on an ''effective'' stress tensor that mixes physical matter with additional gravitational degrees of freedom, obscuring which sector actually controls null focusing, horizon multiplicity, and the disappearance of trapped regions. We develop a geometry-first alternative in spherical symmetry. For a normalized pair of future-directed radial null vectors, twolongitudinal Ricci projections and one independent transverse Einstein projection obey exact area-weighted transport laws. These imply a trapping-persistence theorem: after a nondegenerate future-outer marginal sphere, a regular ingoing generator cannot exit the trapped region while the ingoing longitudinal and transverse convergence channels remain nonnegative. In metric $f(R)$ gravity, with $F\equiv df/dR>0$, we then construct an entropy-resolved hierarchy based on the local Wald-density variable $Fr^2$. In the longitudinal entropy-focusing law, the scalaron second derivative cancels exactly, leaving a nonpositive scalar-gradient square together with the physical matter projection; in the independent transverse entropy-transport law, all scalaron derivative terms cancel. Entropy trapping is consequently governed by the physical matter condition $T_{nn}\geq 0$ and an algebraic mixed threshold rather than by a fictitious effective fluid. The resulting hierarchy cleanly separates matter positivity, geometric focusing, marginal-surface recovery, and gravitational-entropy evolution, and identifies the precise local reversals required for regular inner horizons, throats, and trapped-to-antitrapped transitions.
Double diffraction production for dipole-dipole scattering at high energies
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27308v1
arXiv:2610.27308v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: This paper is a first attempt to describe double diffractive production in dipole-dipole scattering within high energy QCD. Our approach is based on summing large BFKL Pomeron loops, which generate two clusters of hadrons separated by a rapidity gap. Unlike in the BK framework, our approach allows both clusters to carry large masses. We derive the cross section for the production of two such clusters and show that it exhibits geometric scaling. Testing this scaling behaviour against data from high-energy colliders such as the LHC will be a crucial step in establishing whether large Pomeron loops play a major role in high energy QCD dynamics, and in particular in the unitarization of the scattering amplitude.
The $b\bar{b}c\bar{c}$ Fully Heavy Tetraquark at the LHC and the FCC: Multimodal Fragmentation and Observability
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27396v1
arXiv:2610.27396v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We investigate the production of the all-heavy mixed-flavor $b\bar b c\bar c$ tetraquark through a multimodal fragmentation setup combining direct-multiquark and scalar-diquark mechanisms. Standard Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi (DGLAP) evolution is applied while preserving threshold consistency through the Heavy-Flavor NonRelativistic evolution (HF-NRevo) scheme. The resulting fragmentation functions (FFs) are then embedded into hybrid high-energy and collinear factorization at next-to-leading order for semi-inclusive tetraquark-plus-jet production. We compare the two mechanisms through rapidity-separation distributions at the 14 TeV High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) and at the 100 TeV Future Circular Collider (FCC), finding a clear phenomenological preference for the direct-multiquark channel over the scalar-diquark mode. Integrated cross sections and expected event yields provide favorable production-level prospects for future searches at the HL-LHC, with substantially enhanced statistics at FCC energies. These results establish a quantitative connection between microscopic formation mechanisms and the prospective observability of the $b\bar b c\bar c$ tetraquark at present and future hadron colliders.
Stability Analysis of Axion Dark Energy Model
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27514v1
arXiv:2610.27514v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We investigate the stability of an axion dark energy model characterized by a periodic scalar-field potential motivated by pseudo Nambu Goldstone bosons. While such models are well suited to drive late-time cosmic acceleration and can exhibit rich dynamical features, including oscillatory behavior of the dark-energy equation-of-state parameter, their viability crucially depends on the existence of stable cosmological solutions. By reformulating the background evolution equations as an autonomous dynamical system, we identify the fixed points corresponding to radiation-dominated, matter-dominated, and dark energy dominated epochs. Using both analytical and numerical techniques, we analyze the stability properties of these fixed points within the observationally allowed region of parameter space. Our results show that the radiation- and matter-dominated phases emerge naturally as saddle points, ensuring a standard cosmological evolution, while the late-time dark energy dominated solution acts as a stable attractor. This guarantees the robustness of cosmic acceleration against variations in initial conditions. Overall, our study establishes the axion dark energy model as a dynamically consistent and observationally viable candidate for explaining the late-time accelerated expansion of the Universe.
Stabilizer R\'enyi moments beyond entanglement

arXiv:2610.27596v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: Stabilizer R\'enyi moments depend on a choice of operator basis and need not be determined by entanglement spectra. In this paper, we study their spatial decay in critical quantum chains described by two-dimensional conformal field theories. We derive an exact entanglement baseline for reductions of pure stabilizer states and a symmetry selection rule for the charged contribution at fixed support. An exact Ising example shows that an on-site rotation changes the full decay exponent while preserving every subsystem entanglement spectrum. For growing Ising intervals at index two, we obtain an exact Pfaffian representation and compare the charged amplitude with a candidate conformal boundary calculation. The data support this prediction, but its identification with the lattice limit still requires endpoint matching and control of the order of limits.
5D Runge-Lenz Vector from Symplectic Reduction of 8D Harmonic Oscillator

arXiv:2610.27750v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We derive the Runge-Lenz vector of the five-dimensional Kepler problem from the eight-dimensional harmonic oscillator through symplectic reduction. By rewriting the moment maps of the harmonic oscillator in terms of five-dimensional gamma matrices and the $\mathfrak{su}(2)$ generators associated with the symplectic reduction, we identify the moment map expected to yield the Runge-Lenz vector. We then perform the reduction with respect to the SU(2) symmetry, derive the five-dimensional Kepler Hamiltonian, and show explicitly that the identified moment map reduces to the Runge-Lenz vector.
Information Geometry of DGLAP Evolution: From Geodesic Tests to Emergent Small-Circle Geometry
oai:arXiv.org:2610.27886v1
arXiv:2610.27886v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We investigate the geometric structure of leading-order (LO)
nonsinglet DGLAP evolution on the Fisher--Rao manifold of
normalized valence distributions, asking whether the QCD-selected
trajectory is geodesic and how its departure from geodesic motion
is organized. Through the isometric embedding
$\Phi=2\sqrt{p}$, the evolution is represented as a curve on
a Hilbert sphere of radius two, with its velocity and acceleration
determined directly by the DGLAP operator. For a GRV98-based
total-valence trajectory over
$2\leq Q^2\leq 2000~{\rm GeV}^2$, we find a nonzero but
weakly scale-dependent geodesic curvature. An arc-length-weighted
principal-component analysis shows that two affine directions
capture more than $99.999\%$ of the trajectory variance. The
corresponding affine plane intersects the Fisher sphere in a
small circle, whose predicted geodesic curvature closely agrees
with that reconstructed from the DGLAP-generated acceleration.
An $x$-resolved analysis further reveals that Fisher motion
is governed by relative PDF reshaping rather than probability
weight alone, with different momentum-fraction regions
contributing to motion along the trajectory and its transverse
bending. The Mellin representation provides a complementary
perspective on the effective dimensional reduction through the
collective evolution of the spectral hierarchy. These results
establish a quantitative information-geometric characterization
of the reference LO DGLAP trajectory and reveal an organized,
near-small-circle structure over the finite evolution interval.

Abstract: Amplituhedra are semi-algebraic sets of fundamental importance in particle physics. Their discovery initiated the field of Positive Geometry. We settle a central conjecture in this field: we show that the $m=2$ amplituhedron is a positive geometry. Abstract: We use the framework of the logahoric Hitchin integrable system introduced in our earlier work and the sheets of the Lie algebra in order to describe the tame defects in a six dimensional $\mathcal{N}=(2,0)$ superconformal theory under mass deformations. We show that varying leaves of fixed dimension in the Hitchin system amounts to varying residue orbits of fixed dimension. Moreover, we verify the period and dimension conditions in mass-like deformations, as proposed by Balasubramanian--Distler, thus realizing the sheets of the Lie algebra on the Poisson moduli space of logahoric Higgs torsors.
Field theories and critical excitations at anyon condensation transitions
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28148v1
arXiv:2610.28148v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: Anyon condensation transitions remain challenging to characterize especially when the condensing anyons are non-abelian. We develop two complementary approaches for extracting information about the transition from the categorical data of the parent topological order and the condensate. The first adapts a Ginzburg-Landau procedure developed for $1+1$D transitions in the SymTFT setting to $2+1$D anyon condensation transitions. The construction applies when the anyons participating in the condensate have integer quantum dimensions. The second gives a criterion for identifying which point and loop excitations become critical at a continuous transition. The key step is to determine which anyon loops remain condensed throughout. All other loops become critical, while a point excitation becomes critical if it braids trivially with every condensed loop. We illustrate both proposals in several abelian and non-abelian examples.
Black Holes are about Quantum Information

arXiv:2610.28185v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We review and analyse quantum information-theoretic approaches to black hole evaporation that purport to bring us closer to a resolution of the black hole information paradox. Our focus is on the Page-time paradox and on the contribution of the Hayden-Preskill model to understanding information release under the assumption of unitary evaporation. In this model, the black hole is taken to be a finite-dimensional quantum system whose dynamics can be represented by a quantum circuit, and its information-processing and communication abilities are studied. We identify the assumptions underlying this modelling and highlight two key features, fast scrambling dynamics and entanglement as a resource, that underpin the information release in the model. We argue that this reasoning exemplifies a broader change in how information is used in black hole physics, in which quantum information theory now provides a useful operational modelling framework. This application avoids earlier philosophical objections insofar as it is not based on epistemic ignorance and does not regard information as a substance. This line of reasoning has become central to the debate and, as such, warrants greater attention from the philosophy of physics community.
Soft Breaking Naturalness in Majorana Fermion Loop induced Scalar and Majoron Amplitudes
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28198v1
arXiv:2610.28198v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: Majorana fermion loops contribute a shift-symmetry violating effective potential to the coupled scalar field. When the Majorana fermion is light, a larger number of symmetry violating insertions let the loop contribution to grow increasingly infrared sensitive to the Majorana mass. With explicit calculations, we calculate the symmetry violating amplitudes, show that the scalar potential's natural scales serve as nonzero kinematic matching points which remove the superficial sensitivity to the symmetry-violating Majorana mass, continuously restoring the shift symmetry in agreement with 't Hooft naturalness. In the spontaneous broken phase, the scalar radial vacuum expectation value readily ensures the infrared safety of symmetry violating Majorana fermion loops, and all $n$-point Majoron functions develop a leading linear dependence on the symmetry violating parameter in the soft breaking limit, which matches the expansion of the Coleman-Weinberg determinant.
Proliferation Transitions for Quantum Doubles of Groups
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28253v1
arXiv:2610.28253v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: Proliferation transitions are phase transitions between a 2+1d topological order $\mathcal{T}$ and another $\mathcal{T}/\mathcal{A}$, obtained by condensing anyons in an algebra $\mathcal{A}\subset \mathcal{T}$. We consider such transitions in quantum doubles of groups, $\mathcal{T}=D(G, \omega)$, for finite groups $G$ possibly with three-cocycle $\omega$, for which condensable algebras are fully classified. Given a condensable algebra $\mathcal{A}$, we represent $\mathcal{T}$ in terms of a Symmetry Topological Field Theory (SymTFT), that is tailored to the $\mathcal{A}$ proliferation transition. The SymTFT bulk is constructed from the M\"uger center of the subcategory generated by the algebra, i.e. the category of transparent lines, which can be bosons or fermions. Properties of the transition can then be inferred directly from the algebra classification data. For gauged Landau-Ginzburg (LG*) type transitions, we show that they do not only depend on the anyons in $\mathcal{A}$ through their field content, but the cubic interactions are fixed in terms of the multiplication structure of $\mathcal{A}$. Applied to twin algebras, which have the same anyon content but different multiplication structures, we show that twins result in distinct proliferation transitions.
Automation of amplitude-level QED resummation with ACRAIC

Abstract: Precision electroweak predictions for future $e^+e^-$ colliders will require levels of precision unmatched in collider physics and the modelling of multiple-photon emissions, and the exponentiation of the associated logarithms needs to be carefully considered. The Yennie-Frautschi-Suura theorem subtracts the infrared singularities to all orders and exponentiates them, leaving infrared-finite remainders which can be calculated order-by-order. Coherent exponentiation performs this subtraction at the amplitude level, preserving the interference between emissions, but has so far been available only for fermion-pair production, with hand-coded amplitudes. We present ACRAIC, an automated, amplitude-level realization of this subtraction for general scattering processes in Sherpa. This method allows us to construct an $\mathcal{O}(\alpha)$ and $\mathcal{O}(\alpha^2)$ amplitude level subtraction scheme, in which the infrared-finite remainders are tree-level helicity amplitudes with partition-dependent propagator shifts, computed by the Berends--Giele recursion, and the one-loop electroweak virtual enters through a per-helicity factor from the loop provider. At $\mathcal{O}(\alpha^2)$ two independent matchings agree on the size of the missing higher orders to $\sim10^{-3}$, and the estimated perturbative uncertainty shrinks by about an order of magnitude relative to $\mathcal{O}(\alpha)$.
Topological ModMax--AdS Black Holes: Extremality, Charge Normalization, and Limits of WGC Diagnostics
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28359v1
arXiv:2610.28359v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We study four-dimensional topological anti-de Sitter black holes sourced by ModMax electrodynamics and its sign-reversed counterpart. Distinguishing the field-strength amplitude from the conserved displacement flux fixes the charge normalization, potential, and first law. We classify the exact extremal roots for spherical, planar, and hyperbolic horizons; in particular, the hyperbolic ModMax branch has no upper-charge discriminant bound and contains a finite-charge zero-mass point. We also derive the unstable spherical null circular orbit and evaluate the local near-horizon AdS$_2$ Breitenlohner--Freedman index for an explicitly specified charged-scalar probe. These are classical diagnostics, not a WGC verdict: the model does not specify a charged-particle spectrum, an ultraviolet completion, or the global perturbation problem. The distance and de Sitter conjectures cannot be quantitatively tested with the fixed-coupling AdS data considered here.
Geometrically Induced Semiclassical Limit for Quasinormal Modes and Greybody Factors in Higher-Dimensional Near-Ultracold spacetimes
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28367v1
arXiv:2610.28367v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: In this work, we investigate the correspondence between quasinormal modes (QNMs) and greybody factors (GBFs) in higher-dimensional Reissner--Nordst\"{o}m--de Sitter black holes based on the massless scalar field. Our analysis focuses on the QNMs in the near-ultracold family where the inner, outer, and cosmological horizons are close together. Under the geometric limit condition, the leading-order Wentzel--Kramers--Brillouin term of the QNM is dominant for fixed angular quantum numbers and dimensionality without imposing the eikonal limit. Particularly, the corresponding GBFs also retain the explicit form of both parameters. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the half-transmission frequency of the GBF and its derivative are related to null geodesics, in terms of aspects such as the angular frequency and Lyapunov exponent, with the use of both parameters. We provide their relationships in arbitrary dimensionality. Furthermore, the higher-order corrections to the QNMs are investigated at the Nariai limit and in the near-ultracold geometry with separated horizons.
MadStree: automated evaluation of tree-level de Sitter correlators

Abstract: We first derived the formulae of recursive reduction and dlog-form differential equations for arbitrary tree-level cosmological correlator, taking the external relations of massless bulk propagators into consideration. The differential equations could be systematically solved and provide the efficient evaluation of them. We have implemented this methodology as a user-friendly Mathematica package MadStree for computing arbitrary tree-level cosmological correlators.
Slow-Roll Inflation at Arbitrary Order
oai:arXiv.org:2610.28608v1
arXiv:2610.28608v1 Announce Type: cross
Abstract: We derive explicit expressions for the primordial scalar and tensor spectra at arbitrary finite order $p$ in the slow-roll expansion, valid both for canonical single-field inflation and $k$-inflation. At any order, the spectra are determined by known combinations of slow-roll parameters weighted by universal coefficients entirely fixed by the free de Sitter solutions, without requiring perturbatively corrected mode functions. Using these spectra, we obtain closed-form consistency relations that connect the tensor tilt $n_t$ and its runnings $\alpha_n^t\equiv d^n n_t/d(\ln k)^n$ to the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$, the scalar spectral index $n_s$, and its runnings $\alpha_n^s\equiv d^n(n_s-1)/d(\ln k)^n$. The consistency relations are valid for arbitrary $n\geq 0$ and any finite $p\geq 0$, without recursion over lower-order relations. For $k$-inflation, they additionally depend on the scalar sound speed and its scale derivatives. We develop an algorithm that generates both the spectra and consistency relations for any pair $(n,p)$. We reproduce known results through next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N3LO) and extend the explicit calculations up to N10LO.
Inflationary Particle Production and the Swampland

arXiv:2512.07930v3 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: We investigate the impact of particle production during inflation in scenarios where an infinite tower of states features a mass scale that decreases exponentially along the inflationary trajectory. Such couplings naturally arise in string effective field theories and are in fact motivated by the Swampland Distance Conjecture (SDC). We show that the corrections to inflationary observables sourced by the tower scale as $(H/\Lambda_{\text{sp}})^{2+p}$, with $H$ being the Hubble scale, $\Lambda_{\text{sp}}$ being the species scale, that is the quantum gravity cut-off, and $p\geq 1$ characterizes the density of states in the tower. As a result, in gravitationally weakly coupled cosmological effective theories, the tower-induced contributions are suppressed relative to the standard single-field predictions, leaving the inflationary phenomenology essentially unchanged. We demonstrate this explicitly across a set of well-motivated inflationary potentials, and we compare the resulting predictions with the most recent observational constraints, including those from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope.
The JLMS formula in a large code with approximate error correction
oai:arXiv.org:2601.00442v3
arXiv:2601.00442v3 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: Gauge/gravity duality is often described as a quantum error correcting code. However, as seen in the Jafferis-Lewkowycz-Maldacena-Suh (JLMS) formula, exact quantum error correction with complementary recovery (and thus entanglement wedge reconstruction) emerges only in the limit $G \to 0$. As a result, precise arguments controlling error terms have focused on what we call `small' codes which, as $G \to 0$, describe only perturbative excitations near a given classical solution. Such settings are quite restrictive and, in particular, they prohibit discussion of any modular flow that would change the classical background. As a result, they forbid consideration of modular flows generated by semiclassical bulk states at order-one modular parameters.
In contrast, we present a single `large' code for the bulk theory that can accommodate such flows and, in particular, in the $G \to 0$ limit includes superpositions of states associated with distinct classical backgrounds. This large code is assembled from small codes that each satisfy an approximate Faulkner-Lewkowycz-Maldacena formula. In this extended setting we clarify the meaning of the (approximate) JLMS relation between bulk and boundary modular Hamiltonians and quantify its validity in an appropriate class of states.
Heavy holographic correlators in defect conformal field theories

arXiv:2601.15736v3 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: We study holographic defect conformal field theories which are dual to probe branes with bottom-up methods. First we determine the embedding of codimension-1 interface branes in AdS space. Then we compute defect one and two-point functions of heavy scalar operators at strong coupling. We use geodesic approximations to compute reflected two-point functions in two ways, as well as ambient and defect-channel two-point functions. In appropriate limits, our results agree with the operator product expansion (OPE) and the boundary operator expansion (BOE).
Magic and Wormholes in the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev Model

arXiv:2602.12339v3 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: Any quantum state is fully specified by the expectation values of a complete set of Hermitian operators. For a system of Majorana fermions, such as the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model, this set of observables can be taken to be all possible strings of Majorana fermion operators. The expectation values of these fermion strings in a thermal state depend erratically on the microscopic couplings that specify the SYK Hamiltonian, and we study their statistical properties directly in the thermodynamic limit using path integral techniques. When the underlying SYK Hamiltonian is chaotic, we find that these expectation values are well-modeled as real Gaussian random variables with zero mean and a variance that we compute. In contrast, for the integrable variant of SYK, we find that the expectation values are actually non-Gaussian. We then use these results to study measures of magic in the SYK thermal state, including the robustness of magic and the stabilizer R\'enyi entropy. We also show that our results can be quantitatively reproduced with a dual gravity calculation in the chaotic case at sufficiently low temperature. In this dual gravity model the variance of a given microscopic operator string is related to a wormhole geometry stabilized by a massive particle which is dual to the operator string. Our results thus provide a concrete and quantitative setting in which to study the relationship between randomness, wormholes and closed universes, as well as a holographic dual of quantum magic.
Gaussian continuous tensor network states: short-distance properties and imaginary-time evolution

arXiv:2602.15987v2 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: We study Gaussian continuous tensor network states (GCTNS) - a finitely parameterized subclass of Gaussian states admitting an interpretation as continuum limits of discrete tensor network states. We show that, at short distance, GCTNS correspond to vacua of free Lifshitz theories with even dynamical exponent, establishing a connection between certain entanglement properties of the two. Two schemes for approximating ground states of free bosonic field theories using GCTNS are presented: rational approximants to the exact dispersion relation and Trotterized imaginary-time evolution. We apply them to Klein-Gordon theory and characterize the resulting GCTNS, identifying the scale at which deviations from its conformal short-distance behavior appear. In particular, we construct an optimal rational approximation for which, at fixed accuracy, the bond dimension grows only logarithmically with the UV cutoff. These results provide a simple and analytically controlled setting to assess the strengths and limitations of GCTNS as variational ans\"atze for relativistic quantum fields.
M-theory on $S^1\vee S^1$ as Type 0A
oai:arXiv.org:2603.13468v3
arXiv:2603.13468v3 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: We propose an exotic geometric M-theory dual for the weak coupling Type 0A string: compactification on a sub-Planckian $S^1\vee S^1$ (two circles connected at a point), where strong quantum effects lead to fields living on distinct resolutions of that space. Moreover we argue that tachyon condensation of the 0A theory corresponds to shrinking of one of the two circles leading to the IIA supersymmetric string. We use this and other dualities to provide an F-theoretic description of the axio-dilaton and the tachyonic field of Type 0B and argue for the existence of a strong coupling critical point of the potential using the resulting duality symmetry $\Gamma_0(2)\subset SL(2,\mathbb{Z})$ when tachyon field vanishes. The existence of this critical point can also be argued using conventional M-theory dualities. If this critical point is unique it is an unstable dS vacuum. Using this we propose a strong coupling conformal fixed point for a non-supersymmetric gauge theory in four dimensions living on coincident $D3^+-D3^-$branes of 0B. More generally we conjecture that the tachyon field can be identified with a pair of points on the torus parameterized by $z$ leading to the full duality group $SL(2,\mathbb{Z})$ acting on $(z,\tau)$. We find tantalizing hints that for both 0A and 0B the tachyon fields can be identified with the holonomy of a flat $SU(2)$ gauge field suggesting that we have two copies of the universe interacting with one another as if they are D-branes!
Lattice chiral symmetry from bosons in 3+1d

arXiv:2604.06307v2 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: We present a solvable Hamiltonian that realizes an exact lattice chiral $U(1)_V \times U(1)_A$ symmetry. Nielsen-Ninomiya-type no-go theorems are evaded by using lattice bosons rather than fermions. The continuum limit is a compact boson field theory with an axion-like coupling. The $U(1)_V$ symmetry shifts the scalar, while $U(1)_A$ acts on local operators associated with short axion strings and is transmuted into a higher-form symmetry in the continuum limit. We demonstrate the chiral anomaly by showing that the lattice theta angle is shifted by an axial rotation when $U(1)_V$ is gauged. Gauging either $U(1)_V$ or $U(1)_A$ leads to lattice non-invertible and 2-group symmetries, respectively, matching the continuum picture.
Off-shell recursion for all-loop planar integrands in Yang-Mills theory

Abstract: In this paper, we develop in detail the off-shell recursion for planar loop integrands in Yang-Mills theory. Starting from the classical equations of motion solved with the perturbiner method, we derive an exact transfer-matrix representation of the pure-gluon sector. We then include the ghost contributions to the loop kernels based on \cite{Tao:2025fch}. Finally, as an example, we work out the two-loop recursion in detail and conclude a general recursion strategy for two-loop planar integrands whose external legs are gluons.
Genuine Multi-Entropy in the Toric Code
oai:arXiv.org:2607.06050v2
arXiv:2607.06050v2 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: We study genuine multi-entropy as a diagnostic of multipartite entanglement in the toric code, which provides a controlled setting for probing multipartite structures in topologically ordered states. Our main question is whether genuine multi-entropy captures information that is not reducible to conventional lower-party entropic data, such as topological entanglement entropy. We first analyze toric-code ground states that admit a stabilizer-state description, where the relevant quantities can be evaluated exactly. We conjecture that, for stabilizer states and $\mathtt{q}\ge4$, the $\mathtt{q}$-partite genuine multi-entropy at replica index $n<\mathtt{q}$ collapses to a linear combination of multi-entropies involving at most $\mathtt{q}-2$ parties. We establish this pattern explicitly for $\mathtt{q}=4$ in the toric code stabilizer sector: for $n=2,3$, the genuine multi-entropy is proportional to the tripartite information $I_3$ and, for the Kitaev-Preskill partition, contains no independent genuine four-partite information beyond that captured by the topological entanglement entropy. At $n=4$, however, this reduction breaks down: the genuine multi-entropy is no longer proportional to $I_3$, but remains a topological invariant of the toric-code stabilizer ground states under Kitaev-Preskill-preserving deformations that do not change whether the numbers of vertex- and plaquette-type junctions coincide. For generic non-stabilizer superpositions within the ground-state manifold and for coherent superpositions of local excitations, the low-$n$ reduction also fails. These results show that genuine multi-entropy probes multipartite entanglement structure beyond the tripartite information, and hence beyond the topological entanglement entropy in the Kitaev-Preskill partition, whereas for stabilizer states at low replica index it reduces to lower-partite entropic data.
Doubly-scaled planar $\mathcal{N} = 4$ SYM & Carroll Holography

arXiv:2608.27410v3 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: In their seminal paper, Okuda and Penedones (OP) put forward an intriguing proposal towards holography in asymptotically flat spacetimes (AFS). They showed that the flat space limit of 4 point bosonic tree-level string amplitude in AdS$_{5}\, \times\, S^{5}$ is dual to a specific double scaling limit of 4 point correlator in four dimensional (4d) $\mathcal{N} = 4$ super Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. In this paper, we show that the resulting boundary correlators can be used to define a 4d Carrollian conformal field theory (CFT) on future null infinity. This is done by mapping the set of doubly scaled correlators in SYM to null infinity, the conformal boundary of AFS. A Carroll CFT thus emerges in the infinite 't Hooft coupling limit of $\mathcal{N} = 4$ SYM. We extend the OP analysis to higher point functions and show how the Gram conditions on flat space amplitude put constraints on the double scaling limit of SYM correlators. We then use the soft factorization theorem for dilatonic string amplitude to write a recursion relation for the $({1}/{2})$-BPS sector of $\mathcal{N} = 4$ SYM in the double scaling limit. Finally, we show that the essential ideas underlying such a double scaling limit can be used as a tool-kit to build a class of Carrollian correlators, and hence define a Carrollian CFT, via certain integral transforms of flat space amplitudes of non-gravitational effective field theories.
A Type IIB Dualifold

Abstract: We present evidence that ten-dimensional type IIB string theory orbifolded by the $\mathbb{Z}_3$ duality symmetry at the strong-coupling fixed point $\tau=\exp(2\pi i/3)$ defines a consistent theory. Motivated by its F-theory dual description and its duality with M-theory in nine dimensions and type IIA string theory in eight dimensions, we argue that the resulting theory is a ten-dimensional chiral non-supersymmetric theory with a discrete gauge symmetry whose bosonic part is the automorphism group of the Narain lattice $\Gamma^{2,2}(A_2)$ ($S_3 \times S_3 \times \mathbb{Z}_2$). We further identify the ten-dimensional tachyon fields with the corresponding Narain moduli. Gauge anomalies cancel nontrivially through a topological Green-Schwarz mechanism involving a $\mathbb{Z}_3$-valued two-form gauge symmetry: the ten-dimensional lift of the familiar zero-form orbifold quantum symmetry in the eight-dimensional type IIA description.
Carrollian Yang-Mills theories in the homogeneous temporal gauge

Abstract: We quantize, in the homogeneous temporal gauge, both the electric and the magnetic Carrollian Yang-Mills theories with SU(N) gauge symmetry in the fundamental representation. We use the BRST method implemented in the path integral. We show that in the first case all the interaction vertices vanish, thus, giving a free theory. In the magnetic case, there are no loop contributions to the Green functions of the elementary fields --i.e., Green functions not involving composite operators-- and the only connected parts of such Green functions with a dependence on the coupling constant are the tree level contributions to the three and four point functions of the field $\xi_i$. We also show that in the magnetic case the Green functions involving only Wilson loops are trivial and not so in the electric case.
One-Loop Renormalization of Spin-$1/2$ SOPHIES

arXiv:2610.19172v2 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: In this paper, three formulations of spin-$1/2$ Second-Order Pseudo-Hermitian quantum field theorIES (SOPHIES) are built from scratch from parity eigenstates. Pseudo-Hermiticity allows the unconstrained fields to satisfy either Fermi--Dirac or Bose--Einstein statistics, while self-conjugate Majorana-like fields are only compatible with Fermi--Dirac. The set of independent four dimension renormalizable self-interactions of the three theories are identified, and the one-loop renormalization of the unconstrained fermionic and bosonic theories coupled to an abelian gauge boson and enhanced with a Pauli term and including self-interactions is studied, together with the one-loop renormalization of the only independent quartic self-interaction of self-conjugate fields. The analysis leads to a rich set of Renormalization Group Equations with deep connections to known theories, like the Dirac formalism and the Klein--Gordon scalar through the fixed points of the Pauli coupling.
Giant Wilson loops from Fredholm determinants

Abstract: We study large-k symmetric and antisymmetric Wilson loops in N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory. We represent their generating functions as Fredholm determinants built from the Hermite kernel weighted by a symbol function that encodes the representation. Using the integrable structure of the kernel, we systematically apply the Tracy-Widom approach to derive a closed system of integro-differential equations. The equations are then solved order by order in 1/N by a WKB ansatz, while keeping the symbol function general. We find a closed-form expression for the leading and subleading order contributions to the generating functions. Finally, specializing to the two representations, we perform the large-k saddle-point analysis and find the subleading contribution to the Wilson loop. Our results confirm the previously observed discrepancies with the dual D-brane description of giant Wilson loops.
Non-Coulomb $Q$-cohomology and quantum lifting

arXiv:2610.22332v2 Announce Type: replace
Abstract: We study quantum lifting of classical BPS cohomology classes in four-dimensional $\mathcal N=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory. Certain powers of the gaugino bilinear $\mathcal S=\text{Tr}(\lambda_+\lambda_-)$ in orthogonal theories provide non-Coulomb monotones: multi-graviton classes that vanish upon Cartan restriction. For $SO(7)$, we identify $\mathcal S^4$ as a superconformal descendant of a known lifted monotone class, explaining the latter's non-Coulomb character, and explicitly construct a fortuitous lifting partner for $\mathcal S^4$. This construction provides a strategy for finding analogous partners for higher powers at higher ranks. Our main result establishes restrictions on the quantum lifting of classical BPS cohomologies for general gauge groups. We show that the one-loop correction $Q_1$ to the supercharge annihilates every monotone class in classical cohomology, while every non-zero $Q_1$ image is of non-Coulomb type. Thus every non-zero one-loop pairing has a fortuitous source and a non-Coulomb target, so that Coulomb monotones survive at this order at finite rank. In the BMN sector, our results imply that non-Coulomb monotones survive at one loop order as well. A crucial step in the argument shows that every non-Coulomb class, fortuitous or monotone, is annihilated in classical cohomology by a sufficiently high power of a scalar discriminant, which we interpret as a partial no-hair property.
Energy Conservation and Cosmological Redshift from the Brown-York Quasi-Local Energy

arXiv:2006.12162v2 Announce Type: replace-cross
Abstract: The question whether energy is conserved in an expanding universe remains one of the central conceptual issues of relativistic cosmology. The absence of a global timelike Killing vector and the lack of a local gravitational energy density often lead to the conclusion that cosmological redshift represents a genuine violation of energy conservation. In this work we reconsider this problem within the framework of Brown-York quasi-local energy and its associated balance law. For comoving spherical boundaries in FLRW spacetimes we show that the ordinary stress-energy flux through the boundary vanishes identically for arbitrary perfect fluids, while the unreferenced Brown-York energy evolves entirely due to a purely geometrical boundary contribution. We further demonstrate that the timelike boundary world tube possesses a natural dynamical reference geometry. The corresponding reference subtraction removes the universal background contribution of the unreferenced Brown-York energy and leads to a quasi-local energy whose leading nontrivial term exactly reproduces the enclosed matter energy. For radiation dominated cosmologies, the resulting expansion is $E_{\rm BY} = H^2R^3 /2 - H^4R^5 / 8 + \mathcal{O}(R^7)$, where the leading term coincides precisely with the energy of the enclosed radiation responsible for cosmological redshift. Higher-order contributions naturally possess the structure expected for gravitational self-energy corrections. These results suggest that cosmological redshift can be understood within a fully quasi-local conservation framework. The apparent loss of photon energy therefore need not indicate a breakdown of energy conservation but may instead reflect the fundamentally quasi-local character of gravitational energy in general relativity.
Don't miss the forest for the trees: the Lyman alpha forest power spectrum in effective field theory

Abstract: We derive an effective field theory (EFT) for cosmological Lyman alpha forest fluctuations valid for the power spectrum at the one-loop order. The ``bottom-up'' EFT expansion at the level of the transmitted flux is identical to the line-of-sight dependent bias model first derived by Desjacques et al. We confirm this result by a ``top-down'' derivation based on the exponential map of the optical depth field. Specifically, we show that the combination of the exponential map and conditions of renormalizability generates the same EFT expansion as the ``bottom-up'' approach. In passing, we point out inconsistencies of the tree-level perturbative expansion of the exponential map without counterterms. To facilitate practical applications, we generalize the FFTLog method for efficient calculations of one-loop integrals from new line-of-sight dependent operators. Finally, we compare the one-loop EFT model against data from the Sherwood hydrodynamic simulation. The theory fits the data with sub percent accuracy up to $k= $ 3 $h$Mpc$^{-1}$ at $z= 2.8$ for both 3D and 1D correlations. Our model can be readily used for cosmological full-shape analyses of Lyman alpha forest data.
Adjusted Connections I: Differential Cocycles for Principal Groupoid Bundles with Connection

Abstract: We develop a new perspective on principal bundles with connection as morphisms from the tangent bundle of the underlying manifold to a classifying dg-Lie groupoid. This groupoid can be identified with a lift of the inner homomorphisms groupoid arising in \v{S}evera's differentiation procedure of Lie quasi-groupoids. Our new perspective readily extends to principal groupoid bundles, but requires an adjustment, an additional datum familiar from higher gauge theory. We show that for Lie groupoids, the additional adjustment data amounts to a Cartan connection. The resulting adjusted connections naturally provide a global formulation of the kinematical data of curved Yang-Mills-Higgs theories as described by Kotov-Strobl (arXiv:1510.07654) and Fischer (arXiv:2104.02175).

Abstract: We look at a new string$^h$ tangential structure first introduced by Devalapurkar and relate it to the $W_7=0$ condition of Diaconescu-Moore-Witten for type IIA string theory and M-theory. We show that a string$^h$ structure on the target space automatically satisfies the $W_7=0$ condition and we also explain when the $W_7=0$ condition gives rise to a string$^h$ structure. Devalapurkar initially constructed $MString^h$ in such a way that it orients $tmf_1(3)$; we extend Devalapurkar's result, showing that $MString^h$ orients $tmf_1(n)$. We compute the homotopy groups of $MString^h$ in the dimensions relevant for physical applications, and apply them to anomaly cancellation applications for certain compactifications of type IIA string theory.
New Face of Standard Model: Neutral Magnetic Monopole

arXiv:2511.21174v3 Announce Type: replace-cross
Abstract: We show that the standard model has a totally new type of monopole which has the neutral magnetic charge $4\pi/\be$, where $\be$ is the neutral charge. This tells that the standard model has two types of monopoles, the well known Cho-Maison type which has the magnetic charge $4\pi/e$ and the neutral type which has the neutral magnetic charge $4\pi/\be$. This necessitates the new neutral charge quantization rule $\be=4\pi n/\bar g$, in addition to the Dirac's electric charge quantization rule $e=4\pi n/g$. The mass of the new monopole could be less than the Cho-Maison monopole, around 3.28 TeV. We show how to construct the neutral monopole and clarify the topological origin of the new monopole. We discuss the implications of the new monopoles in physics.
Entanglement spectrum and Schmidt mode evolution during two-particle scattering

Abstract: A particle initially in a pure state but interacting with some environment evolves into a discrete ensemble of pure states, the eigenstates of its reduced density operator, with ensemble probabilities given by the corresponding eigenvalues. In this work, we use numerics to present explicit results for the time-dependence of these eigenvalues and eigenstates for simple scattering experiments in one and two dimensions. This provides a time-resolved picture of the scattering process, showing in detail how an initial state described entirely in terms of continuous parameters evolves into a discrete set of possible outcomes, each with an associated probability and time-evolving wavefunction. We find that for scattering of Gaussian wavepackets in one dimension, the late time spectrum is dominated by two large eigenvalues nearly equal to the transmission and reflection probabilities associated with the central value of momentum. The corresponding eigenstates appear as single-peaked reflected or transmitted wavepackets. The remaining smaller eigenvalues, which increase to a maximum during scattering and then decrease to small values, correspond to reflected or transmitted wavepackets with multiple spatially separated parts. In this case and also for two-dimensional scattering, we find that successively smaller eigenvalues correspond to probability distributions with successively more peaks. These multi-peaked states correspond to outcomes of the scattering experiment where a particle initially in a single wavepacket ends up in a superposition of separated wavepackets after scattering.
Topological Charge-2ne Superconductivity and Clustering Hierarchy

Abstract: Charge-$2ne$ superconductors condense clusters of more than two electrons, extending superconductivity beyond Cooper pairing. They exhibit distinctive signatures including fractional flux quantization $h/(2ne)$ and are actively being explored in strongly correlated systems. We develop a general framework for constructing and characterizing \emph{topological} charge-$2ne$ superconductors by combining wavefunction and field theory approaches. Generalizing the Read-Green wavefunction and Higgsing Read-Rezayi-type states yield two families that can support deconfined non-Abelian anyons and non-Abelian superconducting vortices. The first family also admits a construction from doping Jain states. Through Higgs theories, we find that the first and second families realize weak and intermediate clustering regimes, respectively, distinguished by the topology of vortices carrying flux greater than $h/(2ne)$, while strong clustering yields a charge-$2ne$ superconductor without intrinsic topological order. These reveal that higher-charge superconductivity supports a richer hierarchy of topological phases beyond the Read-Green weak-strong pairing dichotomy, with distinct internal clustering structures giving rise to different topological structures at fixed condensate charge.

Probing mass inflation in polymerized vacuum regular black holes via colliding null shells

arXiv:2604.27897v2 Announce Type: replace-cross
Abstract: We derive a class of inner-extremal regular black hole solutions characterized by a degenerate inner horizon. These geometries arise as polymerized vacuum configurations inspired by loop quantum gravity and constitute effective quantum-gravity solutions that admit a Birkhoff-type theorem, rendering them unique within the considered framework. We show that such inner-extremal horizon configurations exist only for a finely tuned value of the mass determined by the parameters of the theory. Building on this construction, together with the corresponding non-degenerate regular black hole solutions, we perform a generic analysis of the mass inflation phenomenon in four-dimensional spacetimes using a colliding null-shell setup near the inner horizon. We identify the conditions under which mass inflation becomes significant and examine how the presence of a minimal length scale affects this behavior, with particular emphasis on the case where such a scale is motivated by loop quantum gravity. Finally, we comment on the stability of these configurations under the null-shell perturbations considered in our analysis.
Polarization-Dependent Photon Propagation, Quasinormal Modes, and Gravitational Lensing in Higher-Curvature Effective Theories

arXiv:2606.19773v3 Announce Type: replace-cross
Abstract: We investigate the impact of higher-curvature corrections on photon propagation within an effective field theory framework and their observational consequences in strong gravitational fields. We consider polarization-dependent modifications to photon trajectories in static and spherically symmetric spacetimes, focusing on Schwarzschild and Reissner--Nordstr\"om black hole backgrounds.
Using the geometrical optics approximation, we derive the effective metrics governing photon propagation and study the resulting polarization-dependent shifts of the photon sphere. We compute the corresponding quasinormal modes in the eikonal limit and analyze their polarization dependence. We further investigate gravitational lensing, focusing on polarization-dependent corrections to the deflection angle in both weak- and strong-field regimes.
In the strong-deflection regime, we find that even perturbatively small EFT corrections modify the coefficient of the logarithmically divergent part of the deflection angle, resulting in a potentially observable difference from the uncorrected case. This suggests that strong gravitational lensing may provide a sensitive probe of small higher-curvature corrections. While extracting EFT information directly from QNM frequencies is more subtle, QNMs may provide complementary information to gravitational lensing in future studies. Our results establish a framework for probing higher-curvature effects through polarization-dependent strong-field observables.

Abstract: We demonstrate how the interference effects for a quantum particle in the double-slit experiment can be described by classical probabilities. We investigate a classical field theory for a complex scalar field with probabilistic initial conditions. A central element are conserved charges leading to the concept of particles. These are statistical observables which describe properties of the probability distribution for field configurations. The conserved charges define subsystems for particle excitations of a vacuum state. The classical probability distribution for the one-particle subsystem can be expressed in terms of a complex wave function. The Liouville equation for the classical probability distribution implies that the time evolution of this wave function obeys the Schr\"odinger equation for a quantum particle in a potential. The potential arises from space-dependent external fields in the otherwise relativistic classical field theory. It can be chosen arbitrarily, realizing the typical quantum effects of interference, tunneling or discrete energy spectra.

Abstract: The magnetic Reissner-Nordstrom black hole embedded into the Bertotti-Robinson magnetic field is presented. Then it is used, as a seed, to generate, through the Harrison transformation of the Ersnt's equations, the Reissner-Nordstrom metric in the Bertotti-Robinson-Bonnor-Melvin magnetic field. Special cases generalising, the vacuum hairy type I Schwarzschild solution is discussed. The local equivalence between various forms of the Schwarzschild-Bertotti-Robinson is shown by exhibiting the explicit diffeomorphism.
Direction-dependent magnetoelectric conductivity from dipolar topological semimetals

Abstract: We compute the linear magnetoelectric conductivity of a two-band vortex nodal-ring (VNR) semimetal and a three-band Hopf semimetal (HSM) within the semiclassical Boltzmann formalism, in the relaxation-time approximation, for three inequivalent planar-Hall configurations, with the electric ($\boldsymbol E$) and magnetic ($\boldsymbol B$) fields oriented differently relative to the nodal-ring plane and the Berry-curvature (BC) dipole axis. Unlike Weyl and multifold semimetals with point-monopole BC flux, the HSM carries a single, point-like BC-dipole fixed at its node, while the VNR hosts a continuous ring of such sources around the nodal loop. Both have vanishing Chern numbers. Working consistently to cubic order in $\boldsymbol B$, we evaluate the Drude, BC, orbital-magnetic-moment (OMM), anomalous-Hall, and Lorentz-force contributions. In both systems, the dipolar BC and OMM activate out-of-plane and odd-in-$\boldsymbol B$ in-plane response-channels that are symmetry-forbidden for a BC-monopole. Mirror symmetry confines the odd longitudinal terms to $B_z$, the field component along the dipole axis. The internode-scattering conductivity of the HSM vanishes identically, since the dipolar BC and OMM are even in momentum and no charge is pumped between two conjugate Hopf nodes, which carry oppositely oriented BC-dipoles. Comparisons with a $\mathcal{PT}$-broken gapped nodal-ring and a pseudospin-1 triple-point semimetal confirm the dipolar-BC origin of these features.
Complex-momentum form factors from lattice QCD

arXiv:2610.03553v2 Announce Type: replace-cross
Abstract: We demonstrate that form factors evaluated with momenta analytically continued into the complex plane can be accessed directly from position-space Euclidean correlators such as those computed numerically in lattice quantum field theory, without continuing the correlators themselves or solving an inverse problem. The method applies a bilateral Laplace transform to lattice data, yielding the form factor throughout the transform's domain of convergence. For the pion form factor in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), this domain contains all complex values of the invariant $Q^2$ satisfying $\mathrm{Re} \, Q^2>-4m_\pi^2$, where $m_\pi$ denotes the pion mass. This extended kinematic reach could improve charge-radius determinations and provide more complete input for fits based on conformal mappings. After developing the method for infinite-volume correlators, we discuss several finite-volume estimators suitable for realistic calculations, including position-space fits and the use of a spatial chemical potential implemented through boundary conditions with an imaginary twist angle. Finally, we test the method in the two-dimensional $O(3)$ nonlinear sigma model using Monte Carlo data.
Logarithmic corrections to massive particle trajectories for the classical soft log theorems at leading order in $G$

Abstract: We study the logarithmic corrections to the asymptotic trajectories of massive particles. These corrections enter the calculation of the soft-log sector of the radiative field at null infinity in four-dimensional gravitational scattering. We first isolate the part of the metric which enters the particle equations of motion. We show that the nonlinear source can only affect this sector through homogeneous modes on the hyperboloid, and that matching to the proposed soft tower implies that these modes vanish, except for the first mode. We show that this mode cannot affect the trajectory coefficients at leading order in $G$. We then invert the matter energy-momentum tensor on the particle worldlines to obtain the trajectory coefficients at leading order in $G$ and at every logarithmic order using Legendre polynomials. The first two coefficients reproduce the known results at orders $G$ and $G^2$.
Hamiltonian framework for Chiral Gauge Theories on a Disk Boundary

Abstract: I propose a Hamiltonian framework for chiral gauge theories (CGT) based on an existing Euclidean formulation, that uses 2n dimensional chiral fermions on the boundary of a 2n+1 dimensional disk. In the original Euclidean formulation, boundary gauge fields were extended into the bulk using $2n + 1$ dimensional gauge field equations of motion (EOM). This creates a bottleneck for constructing a Hamiltonian. I present an alternate proposal for extending the gauge fields into the bulk that is compatible with both a Hamiltonian framework and a Euclidean path integral. Applying this to Abelian gauge fields produces exact expressions of interior fields as a functional of the boundary fields, which can be directly used in a Hamiltonian formulation. Euclidean analysis of the new gauge field extension shows that it can preserve the non-perturbative content of the original construction, including the behavior of topological charge, associated chiral fermion zero modes and an absence of the strong CP problem when applied to the Standard Model. This construction opens up a route to a Hamiltonian treatment and future quantum simulation of CGTs on a disk boundary.
Plasmon modes in three-dimensional multifold semimetals. I. Triple-point semimetal, its quadratic cousin, and Hopf semimetal

Abstract: We study collective charge excitations in pseudospin-1 triple-point semimetals within the random-phase approximation, considering both the linearised model with a flat-band and its quadratic-corrected counterpart. We analyse their density response, Drude weights, screening, plasmon dispersion and damping, particle-hole continua, and Friedel oscillations from the long-wavelength to the arbitrary-momentum regime. The quadratic correction renders the flat-band dispersive and endows it with a Fermi surface, thereby affecting the overall response. Comparisons with Weyl and Hopf semimetals reveal how bandstructure and quantum geometry jointly govern collective charge dynamics. While the Drude weights are determined by the Fermi surface and band-velocities, interband screening, plasmon dispersion, and Friedel oscillations reflect the quantum geometry of the eigenstates.
